Additional Details:
Silent as is realistically possible as will be often used in same room as mics for recording.
Will use existing 1070 GPU for now and plan to upgrade at a later date to a 1080 Ti or RTX 2080.
Also considered Noctua D15 as alternative to Dark Rock Pro 4, and ASRock Taichi w/Thunderbolt 3 AIO as alternative to Aorus Master w/GC-Titan Ridge.
I use multiple USB 2.0 powered MIDI controllers for audio music production.
Prefer a 19" 4u rack-mounted case but am yet to find ideal solution - decided on R6 for now and will look into building a custom rig sometime in the future.
OS not required. Previously used Windows 10 but currently researching feasibility of virtual machines inside Ubuntu Studio.
Appreciate any and all suggestions or thoughts you may have about configuration - hoping to confirm as soon as possible as the old rig is cooked and deadlines are looming.

Thanks in advance.

Afternoon XenArcade,

I have quoted up a system based on your previously sent through components, a few I had to change for availability reasons and have gone with the closest equivalent.

In terms of cooler D15 is definitely the quietest and most reliable cooler we sell, this is due to arrive in roughly one weeks time though so the delay may be slightly too long for you.

Alternatively we could look at a 280mm All in one cooler?

Have a look over the below quote and let me know what your thoughts.

Hi,

Thanks for your quote. I'm thinking i'd like to swap out the Gigabyte mobo with an ASUS Prime Z370 A II plus the thunderbolt extension card.

What does this do to the price?

If we were to pull trigger today, what sort of timeframe could you get a machine built to the amended mobo specs, using an el cheapo alternative cooler ?

I am happy to switch this out, at a later date, when you are in stock of the D15.

Ready to buy now.

Cheers.

Afternoon XenArcade,

I have updated your motherboard and cooler as requested.

The cooler will do a slightly better job then the Intel stock cooler while being quieter so definitely a short term solution :)

Stock wise we can order evrything in within 2-3 days and then our standard build time is 5-7 working days which would usually include the few days it takes stock to arrive.

Would you like to proceed as an in store order (pay via direct debit)

Or would you prefer I create a special order link so you can place the order online and pay via Credit/ Debit or direct deposit.

Are we able swap the memory for 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2666 (CMK32GX4M2A2666C16), also does that include the ThunderboltEX 3 card?

Can you please incude and install a Connect D1 for the R6 (if you have a black one in stock).

Would swapping the 860 EVO for a 970 EVO 2TB M.2 be a viable option? If not in stock or would cause any delay I can install it later.

Will need special link set up as i’ll do a direct deposit from my ASB account - should transfer thru immediatly.

Thanks again.

Morning XenArcade,

The 970 Evos are currentl being phased out and replaced with the 970 Evo Plus and as of yet we have not received the 2Tb versions and there isn't any local stock of the 970 Evo.

There is also no local stock for either the Gigabyte or Asus Thunderbolt card I'm afraid and the quickest way to get your hands on one of these would be to order from the states as New Zealand doesn't seem to be receiving stock.

Otherwise everything else is as requested :)

Thanks for that, just one final ammendment which should be the last...

As I will be able to get by for now without the second SSD, I think I'll see if i can pick up a 2TB 970 EVO's elsewhere - performance boost seems to be well worth the additional cost and would best suit my needs - if you can remove the 860 EVO for now thanks, and if I dont have any luck, I'll come back to you for that.

Will see about ordering of of the thunderboltEX 3 card separate as you mentioned, I'll be able to get by without for now.

Out of interest - for additional cost, is the any further upgrades you may recommend? Happy to pay extra for a CableMod kit or similar addition.

Otherwise everything else looks excellent. Think we got ourselves a mighty fine rig right here.

Afternoon XenArcade,

Not a problem, Here is your updated special order link :)

Performance wise there isn't a lot more you could add without upgrading your motherboard as well, aesthetically you could go for a cablemod kit if you wanted to improve the look of the build.

All good, I'll purchase now - what would be the additional cost for the CableMod kit? I'll add the extra on to my transfer - Or is it best to order separately via the online store?

Morning XenArcade,

A basic kit will set you back $80 (mainly the four or five cables you will see when looking at the build)

A full kit is $160 and will replace every cable from your power supply.

Ill put thru another 160 for the full kit now. Will put under the same reference number as the build.

If ya gonna do something - might as well do it right, I say...

I'm thinking maybe the white kit? Ill leave the choice of colour up to you guys tho - You're doing some of the most tasteful builds I've ever seen, so have complete trust you'll do me right.

I also found both the 970 EVO 2TB M.2 and the ThunderboltEX 3 card which are currently on their way, so all is looking good (will pick up one of the Noctua D15's from you guys once you have one in stock - that NH-L9i should then go nicely in my old rig that I plan to rebuild).

Just im case its of specific importance, just wanted to note again that my existing GPU that I will be adding is a EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING, 08G-P4-6173-KR.

Thanks again for all your help guys - appreciate it massively. Gonna be an absolute game changer to my daily workflow - can't wait.

Cheers.

Morning XenArcade,

Not a problem, we've had a brainstorm and have gone with the Carbon kit as it will match the aesthetic of your case best.

The white kit was a close second though it would really only slightly match the Motherboard and not much more of the case, black was third but would be a bit plain.
