Hi, im about to buy a new pc, want something pretty high end that will last me a long time.

I have been looking at Dell Alienware's new top Aurora https://www.dell.com/en-...ra-r8-desktop/awrad114nz
with their 1440p monitor https://www.dell.com/en-...tors-monitor-accessories

my budget is around $6200 if i stay with the alienware monitor (which i really like the look of) or $8500 for system and monitor.

What i would like /need :

- rtx2080ti
- core i9
- 500gb ssd or higher (don't need a 2nd drive)
- wifi and bluetooth
- quiet system (water-cooling ?)
- something not too huge! (i like the look of the Antec Cube Mini ITX Gaming Case, but open to suggestions )

what would u suggest ?

thanks a lot in advance :D

Morning Dylan,

I have quoted up an equivalent system minus the extra HDD as per your request.

it's quite hard to match components when they don't specify the brand etc so I have chosen my preferred options which are the more reliable ones :)

The case is a mid tower so not massive but not as small as you can go, this is mainly to accommodate a larger cooler for the 9900k to keep it cool and quiet.

The Build and monitor are listed seperately so you can choose to go with the system by itself for $5499.95 or both for $7299.90.

The Acer X34p is also a 3440x1440p ultrawide overclockable to 120hz

Afternoon Dylan,

The Strix has a larger and more efficient cooler as well as a higher base clock and potential for a higher overclock.

The cost difference is quite substantial as the build below includes a fair discount on the parts within.

We also don't have an ETA for the Strix RTX2080ti at this stage.

Just been looking thru reviews on these parts - they all sound good

Will probably go with that,

1 thing i noticed is it doesn't appear to have wifi or bluetooth , or maybe i missed it ?

I think i will go with the dell monitor - seems to have slightly better reviews. So with that price u quoted, it will leave me with about 6-700 dollars to burn on this thing ... 2 other things i wouldn't mind is a really good mechanical keyboard and a good gaming headset (not too much bass) ... i currently game on a MacBook pro (don't laugh!) and quite like the low travel keys .... but I'm sure id get used to whatever ... what would be my best options down that path. Or if there is anything u think that money would be better spent on upgrading (i could always use my old Bananaty keyboards if i had to till i can upgrade later )

Basically wanna get a system i won't need to touch for a long time.

EDIT:

just been looking over ur website - and saw the zeal in the gen-x special edition section (it looks awesome), if i customised that with a core i9 and rtx2080ti would that still be both fully water-cooled ? would be quite small and quiet ? - i realise its a bit more expensive .... ??

EDIT AGAIN:

was playing with ur full custom build option late last night and picked all the parts i liked - can i ring to talk about this and get ur opinion on it?

Morning Dylan,

I've added a Bluetooth and WiFi adapter to your build for you.

For headsets I can definitely recommend the Sennheiser GSP500 as one of the best bang for buck without breaking the bank while having the best Mic of a gaming headset and a nice open sound stage which is very handy at positiong other players.

The K70 is a nice keyboard with Red switches being the most popular but thats a little bit down to personal preference.

Calling direct may be a challenge today as it will be a bit busy in the showroom, you can email me direct @ thomas@computerlounge.co.nz if you prefer :)
