I have a 144hz monitor already, and would like to run some of the newer Unreal Enginge games at frame rates above that.
^ That's my current build. What's the best route for me to take to upgrade?
I think I'm wanting to go to a GTX 1080, do I need to move to the newer CPU's for the latest games?

Afternoon Tearz,
Upgrading your GPU will make a large difference at your resolution even while keeping your CPU.
However in order to hit (and stay at) higher refresh rates a higher clock speed is usually a contributing factor so if it was within the budget changing to an 8600k (6 core) and overclocking that to anything 4.5+ will help you stay consistently at 144hz+ |
