Hi there.
Since I have possibly finally shorted/destroyed mobo or PSU on current PC (have given up trying to determine problem) looking into another build.
PC will be for gaming (Shooters/RPG/etc) at 1080p - via HDTV, yes a couch potato.
Current GPU is GTX670 4gb (EVGA) - which could have also failed. Can't test anything as don't have spares/vehicle.
Already have keyboard/mouse and Bluray/DVD drive. HDD/SSD can be used from my current computer.
The below are my thoughts

CPU cooler;
http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=21628
NOCTUA NH-D15 ELITE-CLASS SIX HEATPIPE DUAL TOWER COOLER
Or another air cooler that is as good as the NOCTUA NH-D14 CPU COOLER (Which I have and is/was awesome) that works with the latest Intel sockets).

http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=29801
INTEL COFFEELAKE CORE I7 8700K SIX CORE, 3.7GHZ/4.7GHZ, 12MB LGA1151 UNLOCKED PROCESSOR, NO FAN
Or
http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=29803
INTEL COFFEELAKE CORE I5 8600K SIX CORE, 3.6GHZ/4.3GHZ, 9MB LGA1151 UNLOCKED PROCESSOR, NO FAN
Nice to have a high clock speed - would like to overclock, suggestions if another cpu is more viable)
Prefer Intel as read Ryzen are not as good?

Motherboard;
http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=29815
ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING INTEL Z370, DDR4 4000MHZ, DUAL M.2 GAMING MOTHERBOARD
Or
http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=29822
GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS GAMING 5, INTEL Z370, DDR4-4133 TRIPLE M.2, 120DB SNR ALC1220, FUSION RGB LGA1151V2 GAMING MOTHERBOARD
Something that has some lighting like these, again suggestions.

PSU;
http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=29040
CORSAIR HX SERIES HX750 750W 80PLUS PLATINUM FULLY MODULAR POWER SUPPY (CP-9020137-AU)
Prefer to use modular connections, read EVGA have very short separation on their HDD power connections.

Memory;
http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=29246
G.SKILL F4-3200C16D-16GTZR TRIDENT Z RGB 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
Something flashy to look at *shrugs* and 16gb is all that would be required for gaming?

Case;
http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=30461
FRACTAL DESIGN DEFINE R6 SILENT MID TOWER TEMPERED GLASS - BLACKOUT
Should fit GPU, and CPU cooler I listed above.

Fans;
http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=30211
NOCTUA NF-F12 PWM CHROMAX BLACK SWAP, 120MM, 4-PIN PWM, 1500RPM x3
Possibly another 2 x 140mm
(Perhaps the corsair Premium magnetic levitation fans? http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=27494)

Operating System;
Windows 10 - DVD or USB variant

Previous PC was from Computer lounge (2012) and was home built which was fun - and it worked fine for years so dunno what I did for it to fail - still think it PSU).
So yeah this comes to about $2,529.50 (using most expensive parts listed and 2 additional 140mm fans) as per your website. Eeeek....
Anyhoo thoughts, or not.

Regards

Morning Replicant k-6,

I have quoted up a component list for you made up out of your previously listed components.

One additional Item I would sugegst getting is a new M.2 SSD for the fresh windows install as this will be a major step up from a traditional SSD.

A good example is this drive http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=30852

Hi there Thomas, thanks for the prompt reply.
Ok knock on that bad boy M.2 SSD (http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=30852)
Also could the Corsair fans (2) be added, 2 x http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=27494
Unsure about a fan controller though (was thinking the Corsair (http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/components/componentview.asp?partid=29324)) - even worth it as the mobo has 2 onboard 4 pin and could cannibalize the basic 3 pin controller off current PC?? - Thoughts? Use a couple of y connections perhaps??
What would be the price of freight to Christchurch rural?

Thanks again.

Afternoon Replicant K-6,

I have requoted for you with the extra fans and SSD as requested.

In regards to fan control, I have always preferred using direct motherboard control, two y splits will manage the two Corsair fans and two Noctua fans, is this all the fans you will have in you system?

Hey there.
Yeah a couple of y splits sounds the better idea. Will replace the case fans that are included as they are apparently not great. The order has 5 fans so can keep 1 as a spare, if later on I decide to add more will get additional controller for it (the fractal case states it can hold 9).
OK so this is the y split you think of using? http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=23084
That's the only 4 pin connector type you stock?
http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=26157 - these only work with 3 pin..... grr
Sorry for constant questions.

Regards

Afternoon Replicant K-6,

I would personally go with these splitters

http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=22779

Though if you only have two fan headers on your motherboard you will be limited to four fans, with the added controller that wont be an issue.

As controllers don't tend to be as accurate as motherboard headers and can sometimes result in higher speeds I would hook up the Noctua fans to the controllers as their max speeds aren't as high anyway and they tend to max out at 25dB so sound shouldn't be an issue.

Hi Thomas
Ok fair point on the accuracy aspect.
Derp should have figured to look in that section.
Yeah please add 1 x http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=22779.
Noise isn't too much of issue as will be using headphones mostly.

Sigh.... cost is rising like my blood pressure haha
Sweet as, again thank you for the information.
