Hi Team,

I'm looking to replace my EVGA GTX 670 after my PC has been crashing lately during games (having tried a bunch of different troubleshooting steps). I wouldn't buy EVGA again given the various problems I have experienced with the GTX 670 (overheating, driver sensitivity etc).

My budget is in the $200-$300 range (but keen for feedback if there's a sweet price/performance point just above that). We generally only play games like Overwatch and Armoured Warfare type so don't think we need huge performance but would pay more for rock-solid reliability.

I'm considering the ASUS GTX 1050

or maybe the Gigabyte GTX 1050Ti

I see there's an ASUS GTX 1050Ti but am not clear on what the Ti models bring to the party.

Are there other good options I should be looking at?

Thanks!

Hey,

The 1050ti is the minimum you should go to. As it's pretty much on par with your GTX670 performance wise.

You should really try and save and get at least a GTX1060. Then at least you will be getting a good step up and not staying where you are.

But if you are totally happy with your performance of the GTX670, then the GTX1050Ti will be pretty much an identical replacement, with better support for drivers, directx 12 etc. for newer games moving forward.

Ti models generally have more Cuda Cores / Streaming Processors and generally more memory (4GB compared to 2G) which makes them more powerful than the standard 1050.

Cheers

Thanks for the advice Paul. I appreciate it. We'll save up and look at getting one of the higher spec options.

Hi Team,

I'm looking to finally purchase a GPU and monitor. I am looking at these two:

ASUS STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING GEFORCE GTX1080 8GB OC
ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q 27"

Can I ask for a quote for these as a combo (as I'm really pushing my budget based on their RRP)?

Many thanks

Queens birthday sales coming up very soon. Computer Lounge tend to do 8-10% discounts on in-stock items.

Thanks Thomas. I was hoping for a bigger discount. I might wait until Queens' birthday weekend rolls around.
