Hey lads,

My current rig, which I got from this very forum, has seen better days. Will be looking to buy a new rig in a week or two so looking to get a quote under my belt.

1. Budget / Price Range:
- 2.5 - 3k.

2. What will it be used for:
- Video editing (moving to 4k video editing).
- Gaming
- Wanting to get a Vive later on.

3. What components you do/don't require:
- Only need tower, have mouse, keyboard, monitor etc.

4. Specifics:
- i7 please.
- Would love the white NZXT Manta case (Mini-ITX).

Cheers.

Afternoon Daxxx,

I have changed the case for now to a mid-tower with an ATX board for further expandability but if you would still like to go down the Mini Itx path I can requote as such.

The Manta however is no longer available locally in New Zealand and we may not be able to source any more, I will however try and track down one for you.

Please have a look over the below quote and let me know what you think.

If you have any questions or would like to make any changes just let me know.

Hey Thomas,

I'm wondering if we can fit this into a Fractal Design Define R5 Black with window?

Also, how much is the price gonna move if we add a blu-ray writer and change out the Turbo 1070 to a Strix? (Which do you think is better here?)

Cheers man.

Afternoon Daxx,

Swapping out the video card ramps up the price a fair bit as I cannot discount the strix anywhere near as much.

Changing the case also increases the price.

This would be your cheapest Blu Ray Drive http://www.computerloung...entview.asp?partid=20695

Hey Thomas,

That BR writer looks like it'll do the job so I'm keen to go ahead and add that.

As you will have probably noticed from my last post I said 1070, this was because I had misread your initial quote and thought it included a 1070 not a 1080.

The price has got a bit over my desired price range so I'm trying to consider how I can bring it down slightly. I'm wondering if dropping back to the turbo 1080 will be enough, or if I need to drop to a Strix 1070. - I'm unsure weather I require a 1080 at this stage considering I don't game in 4k or plan on buying a 4k monitor. Thoughts?

I guess what I'm requiring is the price difference between the turbo 1080 and the strix 1070. I'm sorry to be a pain.

Morning Daxxx,

Here's the updated quote with the GTX1080 Turbo.

With a Strix GTX 1070 the price will be around 240ish less.

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for your help. Things have changed since my original post, I'm gonna need to put this purchase on hold (for about a month).

Also, do we think AMD's Ryzen is going to effect prices much?

Thanks

Morning Daxx,

I can requote this once you are closer to the time of purchase no worries :)

In regards to Ryzen it really depends on how much they shake up the playing field with their performance to price ratio.

Morning Thomas,

I'm ready to continue with my purchase now.

I've been doing some thinking and I think I'll stick with the Strix 1070 please.

Also, I would like some more USB ports, including type C, and future SLI support so can we swop the motherboard out for a Strix Z270 board please?

Could you also include the Asus Bc-12D2HT Blu-ray drive in the quote so I can see the final price?

Thank you again.

Morning Daxxx,

I have updated your quote for you as per your request.

I have also changed your CPU to a 7700k for higher base clocks and the ability to overclock.

If you are not planning on overclocking your CPU I can change it back to the standard 7700.

Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Hi Thomas,

This looks great! I just have a few questions:

- Does overclocking impact warranty?

- How much does bumping up to the Z270F MB impact price?

- If I was to buy at the same time can you do me a deal on the Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel and Shifter Bundle?

- Any idea what shipping to Otago will be?

- Do you stock these parts and how long will assembly take roughly?

Thanks again for the amazing service.

Afternoon Daxxx,

Overclocking does not impact the warranty as that is exactly what these chips are suppoed to do.

The difference will just be the listed price difference ($30) as part of this combo.

I can do the G29 plus shifter for $449.95

Shipping can be between $30-$40 for a system, this is usually calculated via our website though so this is just an estimate.

Our standard build time is 5-7 working days unless express building is paid (Extra $100) for then it is 2-3 days.

Hi Thomas,

I'm keen to go ahead and order this with the Z270F motherboard and the G29 bundle.

So, if I'm right the total will be $3679.90 plus shipping?

How do I proceed?

Thanks for all of your help, you've been very pleasant and understanding to deal with.
