PC build after advice on a couple of pieces

Hey guys, I'm looking for a quote to build up a PC from almost nothing (would be handing my old one over to a family member for office work). Target price is around the ~$4500-$5000 range though that could be stretched a tad if it gets everything, but might have to wait a little bit longer. Mostly used for general browsing, gaming of all kinds (at 2560x1440 144hz) and work nonsense (coding and VMs mostly). Would not be used for any sort of heavy video/image editing. What I DO have: - monitor (2560x1440 144hz - the PG279Q) - keyboard/mouse What I need: - GPU: mostly set on the 1080 TI - CPU: mostly set on the i7-8700k coffeelake - RAM: anything 16gb+ should be fine - Storage: mostly set on the samsung 970 evo m.2's. - 1x 250GB 970 evo(for windows/core programs) - 1x 1TB 970 evo (everything else commonly used) - 1x 1-2 TB standard HDD for a storage slab - Cooling: would prefer water cooled if possible but open to change (the room it will be kept in gets fairly warm, noise is not a major issue however) - Motherboard: looking for suggestions/advice for this one given the above parts - PSU: looking for suggestions/advice for this one given the above parts - Case: looking for suggestions/advice for this one given the above parts, no size restriction. - Windows Would also like to have it built(and tested?) by you guys if that is at all possible. Overclocking is likely, I'm unsure if that could be done for me during the build but it is likely to happen down the track if not. Any glow/matching colours/lighting/RGB is not required, preferably as little as possible but that's not a deal-breaker either way. Multiple monitors is VERY likely to happen if that changes any suggestions. Thanks =)

Afternoon Zavik, Based off your previous message I have quoted up the below system for you with minimal RGBness. We can turn off the majority of the lighting for your system as well if you'd like it as minimal as possible, I've also quoted a non windowed case so there won't be any lgiht leakage. If you would prefer a side window I can change the model for you. The water cooler I have added is a 360mm so should handle all the heat your CPU can throw at it, I've also added a few more higher quality intake fans that will increase your airflow while reducing noise. Have a look over the below quote and let me know what you think. |

If the case switch to a windowed one is easy, I would like to opt for that so I can... admire the view A bit of light/light leakage is quite fine, I'm just not a huge fan of every piece flashing/pulsing/high-beaming and usually turn off as much as I can. If you're able to turn lightning down/off though, please do, but only if it's not a lot of trouble. If I could bother you for a requote with the case change, I think that might be the job done and I should go ahead with it next week sometime. Everything else looks perfect and I greatly appreciate the your time+help, especially with the couple of parts I couldn't decide on.

Hi again Thomas Possible for an update on the build? I don't intend to rush anything along, but I have a work appointment 5mins away from your doorstep around midday today (wednesday 5th) and tomorrow (thursday 6th) so it would be rather convenient if it was ready to pick up then Not a big deal if not, I definitely don't want to rush it. Cheers.

Morning Zavik,
Your system is currently stress testing and will likely finish tomorrow (if all goes well)
So I will let you tomorrow if it will be ready around midday as it still need to run its stress tests overnight tonight. |

Awesome, thanks very much for all the help Thomas. It should be picked up early afternoon today by either myself or someone on my behalf (this work thing I have nearby sounds like it might take longer than expected )
