Hi!

Looking for some advice with a build, totaling somewhere around $3000 to $3400-ish

I'd love to have the 8700k, and a GTX 1080 (Pre overclocked could be nice? I've heard they can then be OC'd further) and 16gb of Ram.
This machine will be purely for gaming and watching movies/shows online.
I won't need mouse/keyboard/monitor or any hard drives or operating system.
I'll be able to build it myself.

I'm not sure which Motherboard would be a good Overclocker with air (as I wan't to stay away from water, it scares me!), and I've seen in some benchmarks that Ram speed can help a little with FPS with gaming so I'm not sure what to pick there either - have heard that 3000/3200mhz is the sweet spot?

I see all the fancy RGB motherboards and ram like the Gigabyte Gaming 5 and the Corsair RGB, and while that would be pretty cool if the case had a window (Like the Define R6), it's not that important.
For case, having great airflow would be ideal and a tempered glass side panel would be a bonus.

I hope some of that makes sense!
Would looking to hopefully have the system last me a good 4+ years before needing to think about upgrades. Right now I play at 1080p, with an interest in going to 1440p/4k in the next 2 years.
A 1080 is certainly overkill for 1080p, but with the idea of going up in resolution in a few years it seems like a smart-ish idea giving more longevity.
