Hello, I am just curious about which cpu and gpu to use, Want the pros and cons of each category.

Want to game, Twitch, Record, Youtube, multitask= playing games and watching youtube at same time and maybe edit.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600x vs AMD Ryzen 7 1800x vs Intel i7 7700k

Intel 9 series vs AMD threadripper

I kind of know that some of the above cpus are for gamers and some for professionals (intel i9's) but just wondering if I am right as they presumably cost $2,000?.

GTX 1080ti FTW 3 vs New AMD Vega Line, I know there are multiple AMD Vega cards but wondering which one would or could compete with GTX 1080ti FTW 3.

Looking to build a pc with a range of $3-3.5k if I was to build one but just want to get more insight into all the new technology coming out. seshd'oh!

Thank You.

Kind Regards

Morning Notworking,

Please have a look at the quoted PC below.

I have quoted this based on what is currently available as the new AMD cards still haven't been announced we don't know when we will be receiving them.

The i9s will be in early next week so if you wanted to wait until then I could quote up a system including those for you.

For the multi-tasking you have described I would highly recommend going with an AMD CPU as they are much better suited to handle this environment.

Let me know your thoughts on this build and if you would like to make any changes just let me know as I am happy to requote for you.

Hello Thomas,

Wouldn't a AMD 1800x be better ?
and would a h100i v2 be better AIO than the one listed ?
Also would this rig be able to play games in 4k, like Player Unknowns Battle Grounds while streaming and be future proof for about 3-5 years ?

Just wondering since this is going to be my first build and going to cost me heaps of dough.

Thank You Thomas

Kind Regards

Morning Notworking,

The 1800x would be an improvement as would be that cooler, changing those two pushes the price above your budget though which I was trying to hit.

The biggest factor of 4k Gaming will be the GPU, the GTX 1080ti can currently play games on high settings comfortably at 4K though newer games may change this.

As 4K is so demanding as more demanding games come out your card will begin to struggle, this shouldn't be too much of a problem for the next 1-2 years as long as you are ok with changing settings to their lower equivalent to maintain the 60hz refresh rate, alternatively you could lock the frame rate in games to 30fps to increase the time you can game comfortably with this setup.

The alternative approach would be to aim for a resolution such as 1440p (if you don't already have a 4k monitor) with a high refresh rate as your PC will be much more future proof than it would be on 4k.

Hey Thomas,

Its been a while. :)

Was wondering if it was ok to get a new quote upgrading some bits etc ? if so sweet.

1. Motherboard = Asrock x370 taichi
2. CPU = AMD Ryzen 7 1700
3. RAM = Not sure apperently ram with samsung b dye are the best ? looking at G.skill trident ? 16gb (2x8gb)
4. SSD = Normal SSD 250gb, don't think I need a NVMe yet.
5. HD = WD 1tb I think would be enough
6. Graphics Card = As noted above EVGA gtx 1080ti
7. OS = Windows 10
8. PS = No clue
9. Case = New NZXT H series
10. Cooler = Corsair h100i v2, does the 1700 still come with the stock wraith cooler ?

Another question I had was If its possible for the purchaser to build their pc at the site if they are new to the whole pc thing, getting hlpe with OC etc. (Know how to build it) just not sure If i'll screw something up or not lol. Paying for building costs ofc. :)

Cheers

Afternoon Notworking,

I have updated your quote for you as per your request.

I have included the H100 you asked for though the AMD 1700 does indeed come with a stock cooler so that can be removed if you would like.

The H series NZXT cases are expected to arrive around the 20th of this month but I have no pricing as of yet so have left the S340 elite in as a placeholder as cost should be semi-similar.

Let me know your thoughts on all of this.

Morning Notworking,

I have amended your quote for you with the change to the RAM and the HDD though I can not change the motherboard as we choose not to stock Asrock products.

If there was an alternative Model/ brand you would prefer that we do stock just let me know and I will update it for you.

let me know how you would like to proceed/ which board you would prefer.
